In our day to day life we do lots of mistakes related to our food habits, lifestyle; even our ignorance may cause us the diseases. Most of us may be unaware about some practices which are of less importance in our busy schedule. Actually they may look silly or simple but their long time effect is very horrible.</div>

Let me start with a small story. One of my patient Sanket aged 7 used to have problem of indigestion. I treated him lots of time and all the time he was cured by the treatment. But after some day the same problem use to reoccur. Her mother was my blog reader. I thought the problem is due to food, so I treated Sanket every-time only on the basis of his symptoms. I never went deep into his daily lifestyle. When this problem not curbed after repeated medication I thought of having his complete lifestyle history. Then I found that he is having an habit of bathing after food.</div>

So Today my topic is on "Don't practice these 3 after food!".</div>

<b>1. Bath -</b></div>
<div style="color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.714285714; margin-bottom: 1.714285714rem;">
You shouldn't have bath just after having food. The bath after food will alter your digestive process and it may turn into a permanent digestive problem. Naturally bath increases your digestive power but if you have bath after food it will hamper the digestion. It is better to have early morning bath without having anything. If you are a housewife then surely you don't get the time in the morning hours and you plan to have bath in the afternoons. So at least 3 to 4 hours gap have to be given after food to take bath. In this gap your break fast will be digested completely and the bath will not cause any disease rather increase your digestive capacity.</div>

<b>2. Sleep -</b></div>

Sleeping after breakfast & lunch is not advisable for you. This is the major cause for your Diabetes, Fat deposition and obesity problems. Ayurveda science says Sleep after breakfast & lunch will close all the channels of your body. These channels are helpful to carry digested food material to respective tissue and help to convert them into a particular tissue. Due to closed channels the food will not able to reach to their respective tissues to build them. But the digested or semi digested food will totally convert to fat and it will again close your channels by atherosclerosis. If it is continued for long time the above disease will attack for sure. Naturally we go to sleep in the night after dinner. Even in the night there should be a gap of at least 2 hours after dinner.</div>

<b>3. Exercise</b> -</div>

Exercise after food certainly leads to serious health issues. Exercise includes playing outdoor games like Cricket, Football etc are also not good. Even it includes journey over car, two wheeler is not good. When you consume food our digestive system starts digestion. Exercise or playing outdoor games will disturb your digestion. So sitting in a calm place for half to one hour is the right thing for you. If you don't have that much time to spend then at least sit in a place for 15 min. and have a relaxed mind.</div>

Sahana was suffering from pricking pain around the umbilicus and irregular bowel (passing stool) movements. First 2 months some how they managed with medicines prescribed by the doctors. But when the medicine course end, she was feeling good for a week and again the same problem reoccurred. She managed to get the medicine again but after some days the same saga continued. </span></div>

Shashi wants to know what is the actual cause behind Sahana's problem. She wanted permanent cure and precautionary measures in future. </span></div>

If anyone eats something before the complete digestion of earlier food will cause indigestion. The same was in her case. She was having two meals after 4.00 PM which was too hard for her to digest. </span></div>

<li><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Morning skipped the breakfast (6.30 - 7.30 AM) and told her to have one full glass of hot milk added with 1 teaspoonful butter (salt free) and sufficient amount of sugar. If fresh home made butter is available then it is best.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Bath will increase the appetite naturally, so after taking bath one should have food. So I advised her to have milk with butter which is a wholesome food and provides rejuvenation to the body. Early morning intake of Milk with fresh butter will improve the intellectual power and memory power. It is said to be a good for brain development. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Snacks break at school (10.00 - 10.30 AM) advised her to take morning breakfast like chapati, idli etc.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Lunch time (1.30 - 2.00 PM) full meals with sambar and curry.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Skipped 4.00 - 4.30 PM full meal.</span></li>

Which is right?"</b>. I told her that what result you got will be the answer. </span></div>

She doesn't have any pain in the abdomen. After 15 days I stopped all the medicines and now is happy and feeling good. </span></div>

Today Thyroid and hormone related diseases are becoming common in 20-30 age groups of females and some males. It is alarming and most of them go for Allopathy treatment which tries to do the management of the disease but no definite cure. Some people fed up with treatment and turn to Ayurveda, Homeopathy etc. I receive these kinds of patients more who tried other treatments and were not satisfied.</span><br />

The patients who comes first for Ayurveda treatment in early stages of the disease is curable and the patient can lead a normal healthy life. But if the disease is chronic in a particular patient, the treatment will also take longer duration. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">1. The regularization of menstruation will sufficient to cure the problem. So here we give importance to menstruation. It again depend upon the cause, due to which the menstruation is impaired. Here some of the oral medicines and some procedures like "Virechana" and "Basti" will help.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">2. The hormonal pills etc will ruin the normal hormonal physiology of the body and thyroid problems occur. This in turn effect the production (more or less) of thyroid hormones. The final outcome will be sudden weight gain or weight loss, hot flushes, fatigue etc. Here the treatment is to bring the normalcy in thyroid and related hormone production. The oral medicines are sufficient.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">3. First one and half month of pregnancy is very important. Usually in the pregnancy (9 months) no menstrual flow. So the unwanted blood accumulates in the body. For the first 15 days after delivery there will be profuse flow of menstrual blood which clear all the stored unwanted blood. During these 15 days, some home medicines like pepper decoction, black cumin decoction will help to clean the body. If the blood is not cleared during this time the outcome will be thyroid problem and sudden weight gain. Here we conduct "Virechana" treatment to clean the body from the toxic blood. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">4. Due to impaired digestion, accumulation of "Kapha" will hamper the hormonal system. This leads to disease. Here "Vamana" to remove "Kapha" will be the major treatment. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">4. Avoid night Curd and butter milk. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">5. Deep oil fried foods and bakery foods to be avoided.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">6. Stop having evening snacks</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">7. Use 1 to 2 teaspoon full of ghee during lunch and dinner</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">8. Have oil massage bath every day morning in empty stomach</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">9. The fast foods like Pizza, Burger, Italian etc which are not suits us will be better to avoid.</span><br />

grind it in the mixer for 2-3 minutes. Filter the semi liquid material in the
clean cotton cloth and squeeze it in a vessel. That is coconut milk we get around
500ml. Now mix freshly boiled rice in the coconut milk vessel. If needed add
some quantity of water to adjust the consistency. </span></div>

The child was very irregular in passing stools few days back but from last one week he had very severe problem once in 2 or 3 days he passes stools with very difficulty. Even after sensation of defecation Aurush unable to pass stool due to the severe pain and he cry during passing stools. They tried some home remedies like giving Banana etc. no improvement.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The other associated problems were bloated stomach, loss of appetite, pain in the abdomen, intestinal gas with foul smell and belching. When I did the physical examination of the body I found inflammation in the anal region which was very red and very sensitive to touch. When I started taking history I found these below as cause for the constipation.</span><br />

I massaged Castor oil to his lower abdomen (part below the umbilicus and above our genital organ) and back (same area in the back of the body) for 5 minutes and gave him hot water fomentation. Immediately he got the sensation of stools and passed the stools. </span><br />

The next step was to stop all the foods which cause constipation and told them to give him rice gruel for next two days to add 1 teaspoon of Butter or Ghee to his food. Use only hot water for drinking. Apply butter to the anal region 2-3 times a day. Within 3 days the child was in normal condition. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Here actually due to the dry food his intestine was completely dry and no ghee or butter was there in his food. The bakery foods and oily foods will cause indigestion and leads to constipation. Due to the hard stool very sensitive anal region was damaged and it was paining. </span><br />

But here the cause of the disease was different. </span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">After delivery she doesn't followed the proper food and lifestyle and the final result was Thyroid problem. </span></div>

These 15 days a delivered lady has to clear body from the unwanted tissues. Then for next 30 to 45 days every day ample amount of ghee has to consume along with the hot and fresh food. The Ghee will provide strength to the Uterus and body, clear out the last remains of the unwanted tissues. Ghee increases the milk secretion (this is Ayurveda way of postpartum</span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"> regimen). When these regimens followed she starts menstruation after 3 months and it will be regular. The major benefit is she will come back to the normal weight what she were having before pregnancy. </span></div>

<b style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">"naso hi shiraso dwaram" </b><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">means the Nose is a way to Head and Brain. So any medicine if has to go to the head then it should be put into the nostrils. </span><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"> </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Everyday after brushing the teeth every one should put 4 drops of coconut oil or Seasum or Gingilly (Til) oil in one nostrils followed by other nostril. First one should lay down on the bed and put the oil. After that take deep breath so that the oil should go inside. After 2-3 minutes the oil along with some phlegm come to our mouth. We have to spit it out. The phlegm will come for around 5 min with small intervals. Don't swallow it. When phlegm stops then take some amount of warm water and rinse the mouth for 30 seconds and expel it. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">i. Three times a day at a particular fix time have to take food according to his digestive capacity. While having food one should have to feel hungry i.e. the earlier food should be completely digested. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">ii. Have to take dinner before 8.00 pm and afterwards no food.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">iv. Excessive intake of water is a major cause for allergic rhinitis. Water should be taken whenever necessary i.e. when we feel thirst. The hot water is always best.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Two days before I went for a Lunch organised by our Doctor group. While eating I have consumed some more food which was really tasty. But within two hours my stomach got upset. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">1. The stomach was full with gas (Bloating stomach)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">2. It was heavy (something filled inside) and I was feeling very uneasy.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">3. Slight pricking pain was there in the abdomen region. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">4. Continuous belching.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">1. Cumin seed 1/4th teaspoon and 50 ml water and prepared the decoction. Had it sip by sip. Within 10 minutes my bloating of stomach relaxed. (You can also try this - take 1 teaspoon of cumin seed and chew inside the mouth for about 5 mins. The juice of cumin seed and our saliva will mix and form a liquid. Degluate (swallow) the juice. It will quickly clear the gaseous distention of the stomach and reduces the pain.)</span><br />

I prepared the rice gruel which is very easy for digestion. While preparing the gruel I added 1/4th teaspoon of coriander seed powder & cumin seed powder. While having the gruel again consumed cumin seed decoction. Next day morning I was completely perfect. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>Rice gruel preparation</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Take 50 gms of rice & wash it 3-4 times and add 500 ml of water and boil it on the low flame. Add cumin and coriander seed powder. When the rice is completely boiled use it for eating. You can add small amount of salt for taste while eating.</span><br />

of wastes and a positive mental outlook. Ayurveda states that in order to be
optimally healthy we should tune our bodies to nature’s master cycle. This Dinacharya
can be subdivided into 4 parts in a day ie Morning, Noon, Evening and Night

in the night should be completely digested. But it is not compulsory for the

head and ends at leg. During massage our stomach should be empty. Morning time
is the best time for Abhyanga. Mustard oil, Gingilly oil, Coconut oil or Castor
oil cane be used for the body massage according to the availability. Gingilly oil is said to be the best oil for
the Abhyanga.<o:p></o:p></span></h2>

rice, and water and boil it in a small flame. Stop the flame after 10 minutes.
Add sufficient amount of salt. For taste and flavor add Cumin (Jeera) and
Coriandum (Dhaniya) powder each 5 pinch in quantity. While eating the gruel add
